Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away. These are not all the possible side effects of FETZIMA. For more information, ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
What about sexual side effects?
The most common sexual side effect was erectile dysfunction, which occurred in 6% of men who took FETZIMA in clinical studies. Fewer than 2% of FETZIMA-treated female MDD patients in placebo-controlled clinical studies reported side effects related to sexual function.
Is FETZIMA associated with weight change?
In clinical studies, FETZIMA was not shown to affect weight. Weight gain or weight loss in people taking FETZIMA was similar to those taking placebo ("sugar pills"). In addition, this lack of effect on weight was consistent, whether FETZIMA was taken during the 8-week studies or during the long-term, 1-year study.
Was the safety of FETZIMA studied beyond 8 weeks?
The safety and side effects of FETZIMA were studied for 1 year in over 800 patients who knew they were taking FETZIMA. The efficacy of FETZIMA was not evaluated in this study. The most common side effects were headache, nausea, upper respiratory tract infection, and excessive sweating. The incidence of side effects was generally consistent with the 8-week studies.
